Last Night's Kiss

We kissed last night.

Not the sweet little good-bye type peck we do each morning. Or the sweet little peck we sometimes do when we hug for no reason. Not the kind of kiss that grows from being married for so long. But the kind of kiss that takes your breath away.

A kiss that stops everything in its path. A kiss that makes the world go silent. A kiss that lovers do, not married people. A kiss like the one that happened in the elevator in the movie "Fatal Attraction." The kind of kiss that touches every nerve of your being and reaches the deepest recesses of your mortal being. The kind of kiss that happens during the first week of every courtship where lovers can't seem to get enough of each other and every moment awake and together are spent in infinite embraces, spine tingling touches and kisses. Oh, those kisses!

But we kissed last night, and it re-affirmed what I thought I knew: I love you. Deep, deep down, I love you.........
